ADULT SUMMER COURSE 2026

The Star Pottery is a warm and friendly workshop,  designed for anyone with a passion for making objects out of clay. Mohamed is a master potter with 45 years of experience and expertise in throwing and decorating. He teases out the individual creative streak and welcomes exploration and enjoyment.

 

Lewes

Lewes is a wonderful picturesque town nestled in the Sussex countryside, it has a vibrant comunity with plenty of delightful places to eat and explore in your free time. Lewes has some fascinating historic places to visit aswell such as the Norman Castle, Ann of Cleeves House and The Bull House (former residence of the radical thinker Tomas Paine). We also have numerous art galleries to visit and the Charlston Gallery has some intriguing exhibitions on through out the year. Mohamed belongs to the highly regarded Sussex Guild craft organisation, and we are proud to have an excellent, well-stocked Sussex Guild gallery at Southover Grange.

This summer we will be running three weeks of pottery courses:

Week Commencing: Monday 17th August 2026

Week Commencing: Monday 24th August 2026

​

Morning session: 10am - 1pm

Afternoon session: 2pm - 5pm

 

Fees

Half day £80.00

Full day £160.00

If you book the whole week £730.00

All levels welcome. Fees include tuition by Mohamed Hamid, who has been teaching for over 27 years, you will be in a small class of up to 3 people and will have your own electrical wheel for the duration.

Tea and coffee included.

Clay and firing costs are extra and are charged at £5.50 per pound of clay on collection of your pots.
