SPECIALIST GUEST POTTERS
Tanya Gomez is coming to the Star Community Pottery on Saturday 21st November 2026 for a one-day porcelain throwing course where you'll be introduced to the beautiful and soft material.
Throughout the day, you'll learn the essential skills of bringing the clay up on the wheel, focusing on building confidence and control in your hands.
Guided by an experienced tutor, you'll explore key techniques such as centring, pulling and along with some of the finer details that give porcelain its signature elegance. This hands-on, supportive course is perfect for anyone looking to experience the unique challenges and rewards of porcelain throwing.
A small charge will be made at the end of the session for anyone wishing to keep the pots that they have made.
Jess Skelton is coming soon to the Star Community Pottery for a weekend pottery course. Jess will be teaching her 'expressive handbuilding' and surface decoration techniques.
Throughout the weekend, Jess will demonstrate monoprinting as well as many other playful building and surface decorating techniques.
You will be encouraged to be experimental and playful with clay and slips, and are welcome to bring your own mark-making items found from beaches, woodlands, or urban landscapes to enhance the originality of your pieces.
